Mega Spilaio - Grand Cave Vintage 2016 750ml

A bold, structured red wine, Mega Spilaio Grand Cave 2016 is a masterful blend of Mavrodaphne (60%) and Mavro Kalavrytino (40%).

In the glass it shows a deep ruby-red color with lively crimson highlights. The aromatics are complex — laurel, white pepper, and redcurrant jam mingle with leather, vanilla, and dark chocolate from its extended barrel ageing (20+ months in French and American oak).

On the palate, it’s full-bodied and elegantly structured: smooth, balanced tannins, vibrant acidity, and a fine line of flavour that combines ripe berries, spicy wood, and savory depth. The finish is long, warm, and decidedly refined.

Pairing suggestions: best with game birds, rich stews, grilled red meats, or mature cheese. According to its producer, decant for at least an hour before serving.Best served around 16–18 °C.
